Although this can help a bit, it has many flaws. As an example, if you’d died because your net stopped working and it took you more than a minute to fix it, your thing would have already been public or maybe even gone. If it takes you a long time to get to a bank, buy a teleport, teleport, and then run to your items, chances are your things are now gone.
With the Lootshare update (along with the Trail of Glouphrie update – where players can strike others within a NPC attacking), we know that Jagex can currently control unique results when you are killed by a participant and when you’re killed by a NPC. Understanding this, why not simply make it so you can select your thing priority when killed by a NPC?
You can go to Doomsayer in Lumbridge and toggle it. A box will come up and let’s you select your items that you keep – just when killed by a NPC, and not a participant. This solves the problem of changing pking. This could have exactly the same result as the upgrade, but only make the results more secure for players. Thanks for reading and comments are appreciated.
